Pictures taken at the beginning of the process.
Assignment:
Please do 12 panels as required:
Support: No need to buy a specific cardboard/paper. At Mica, you can fin a lot of cardboard boxes on the trash (ask at the café Doris where is the big trash can)
Size: Each panel should be 9” x 9”.
Since the success of the assignment is based on the assemblage of all the panels, do it the most square and equal as you can.
Among the 12 panels, ONE will be a copy of a painting and/or illustration made by an artist of your choice. No need to do the whole painting/illustration, you can focus on one detail. (as an example, see attached illustration by Belgian artist Anne Brouillard).
If you choose to copy a detail of painting/illustration, please, try to compose > This detail must look like a work of definitive.
The remaining 11 panels can be completely abstract and it would be great if you have different kind of colors, shapes, lines, etc. (See attached documents)
Process:
Use different tools such as colored pencils, gouache, acrylic, dry pastel, pens (such as BIC), markers, etc.
Again: no need to work with an expensive material. Use the cheapest material you have.
The plan on Thursday will be to exchange the panels and work on something unforeseen. So, have fun doing the panels.
